Sodium polyacrylate, shortened £á£ó PAANa, structural formula [£CH2£CH(COONa)]n£ is a sort of water-soluble resin containing millions to tens of millions of molecular weight and features in white or slight yellow solid, alkalescence, ionization and corrosiveness. When PH value appears about 4, it is easy to be gelled; PH is nearly 2.4, it is almost in dissolution. This product easily dissolves in sodium-hydroxide solution, while it produces precipitate without poision in calcium-hydroxide solution, magnesium-hydroxide solution and so on. High polymer polyacrylic acid sodium, molecular formula: [C3H3O2Na] n, is a sort of water precipitating agent produced by the latest technical research and development at home and abroad and also is a sort of water-soluble polymer material, so that it can increase the viscosity of the other solution or water dispersion. Therefore, this product possesses two properties of efficient flocculating and thickening.
High flocculating effect---- High polymer polyacrylic acid sodium carrying charge itself can play the part of neutrality and bridging adsorption in the suspended particles in water to enable such particle to agglomerate groups with each other, so that this product has the properties in terms of prompting setting, clarifying and purifying.( note: it will plat the role into the fullest with the appropriate adding mounts; if add excessive amount, it will show dispersion effect.
High flocculating effect---- High polymer polyacrylic acid sodium plays its roles on two fronts: The first one is that through its own viscosity, this product has increased the viscosity of aqueous phase that to some extent has functional relationship with polymeric concentration; the other is that it produces chemical actions with disperse phase and high-molecular compound in water which can improve the thickening effect to a higher degree than that caused by its own viscosity.
